Nathaniel "Nat" Baker Jr.
In The flower of His Youth
The sad intelligence was received Monday of the death of Nat Baker, Jr., fro pneumonia, after an illness of but a few days, at Crete, Neb., where the young man was attending Doane college. He was a native of Lusk, having been born on Christmas day, 1894, making him a little over 17 years of age, He entered Doane college in October, 1911, and would have graduated in 1915 had his life been spared. His father had gone on a business trip to Washington and was apprised of the serious condition of his son about the middle of last week, when he hurried west and was with his boy during the last sad hours. Nat was a young man of great promise; he was unassuming in his manner, polite and affable to all and was a great favorite with his youthful acquaintances and that his young life should have been thus cut short is a great sorrow to all who knew him. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family. The remains were taken to Glasgow, Mo., for interment, where his mother was buried some years ago.
