Rena Barnes
In Memoriam
Rena Barnes, beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin D. Barnes, departed this life Monday night, April 17th, and was buried in Lusk cemetery yesterday. The funeral was private, only the immediate relatives and a few close friends being present. Rev. Mr. High, of Douglas, conducted the short service , and by his selections from the scriptures and his appropriate sermon brought comfort and consolation to the hearts of the stricken mourners. Rena was born at Cody, Neb., in 1905, and lacked only 12 days of being six years old; she was a most lovable, sweet child, and was a great favorite with her little playmates. Being the only child of her parents and the only grandchild of two families, her loss is felt all the more keenly. But the parents and grandparents have the assurance that Rena still lives, for the Master said, "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." Four young girls acted as the pall bearers, Bonita Reed, Gladys Sargeant, Jennie Christian and Leona Baker.
