William "Bill" Brust
Died Suddenly
W. (Bill) Brust died suddenly of heart failure Sunday morning at the Northwestern hotel. For several months last winter he boarded at the hotel and about the first of February went out to the Jay Em Ranch where he was employed by Silas Harris to herd sheep. He came in from there about the middle of last week and complained of not feeling well; he had suffered for a long time from asthma and when he was examined by Dr. Stephenson the doctor discovered that his heart was affected. He was called to attend his Sunday morning but before any remedies could be applied he suddenly expired. The remains were interred Monday morning in Lusk cemetery.
Very little is known of his relatives. He worked for Jacob Mill for four or five years and he often told Mr. Mill that he had a married daughter in Chicago, but he was never known to receive any letters from her and no one knows her address there. He came from Montana eight or nine years ago where John Yost knew him and has lived in this part of the country ever since, sheep herding. He was a quiet, inoffensive old man and kept his affairs pretty much to himself. As he had some money due him from the J.M. Cattle Co., his burial will cost the county nothing.
