Lewis Lind

Lewis Lind was born at Mortelo, Ockello, Sweden, August 27, 1852 and came to this country at the age of 15 years, locating at Altona, Ill. He came to Lusk in the spring of 1889, with his family and has resided here until his passing away at the age of 71 years and 14 days.

He was married in 1882 to Miss Helen Berggren, to this union was born three children, Albion, Esther Schroefel and Anna.

His first wife passing from this life June 30, 1897,

On December 16, 1914, he was married to Miss Hattie Rouse.

At the age of 14 years he was confirmed and joined the Lutheran church in Sweden, For several months he had suffered from a complication of diseases.

Ever a kind husband and father, he will be greatly missed by those who came most directly under his guidance and influence.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and children, two daughters, Anna  and Esther, and his on Albion, and one grandchild, Warren Schroelfel. Three brothers in Sweden, Olaf, Peter and Carl, and other relatives.

The funeral services were conducted at the ranch home Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 12, and he was laid to rest in the Lusk cemetery beside his first wife., Rev. R.E. Hankin of Douglas officiating.

The pall bearers were: Anton Hanson, J.R. Anderson, Ira Teeter, M.J. McCormick, George Howes and R. I. Olinger.
