RANCH HAND IS FOUND DEAD IN WATERING TANK

CLYDE MCDONALD DROWNS AFTER SUFFERING FAINTING SPELL WHILE AT WORK

Body Found by Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Cook Upon Return From Trip To Lusk Last Thursday

Clyde McDonald was drowned in a water tank at the E.A. Cook ranch, near Hat Creek, last Thursday morning while Mr. and Mrs. Cook were in town.

The owners of the ranch came to Lusk Wednesday, leaving McDonald in charge and returned during the middle of the forenoon the following day to find the lifeless body hanging over the edge of the tank, the upper part of which was submerged in the water. No evidence of foul play was found and as the deceased was subject to fainting spells it is thought that one of these spells had evidently attacked him as he was about to water the stock.

That the accident did not happen until Thursday morning was easily seen by the fact that here had been a fire in the kitchen range and that the morning milking had been done.

The hearse from the Austin, Elquest, Slack company undertaking parlors went out and brought the body to town where it was kept until the arrival of the father and brother of the deceased, J.W. McDonald and Dale McDonald, respectively, from Alpena, S. Dak., to which place they accompanied the remains Sunday evening.
