Geo. B. McKinney, 81 years Old, Dies Here Tuesday, June 3

Geo. B. McKinney, 81 years old, died at the Lusk Hospital, Tuesday, June 3, after a lingering illness, caused by complications.

Funeral services were held in Van Tassell, Wednesday, the George Earl Peet Mortuary having charge of the arrangements. Rev. B.F. Farrar officiated . the pallbearers were H.E. Zerbe, Geo. Siebkin, Mr. Sowders and Mr. Hecklebeck.

The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Sam Erlewine of Van Tassell, with whom he had made his home for many years.

George B. McKinney was born in eastern Indiana, on May 5, 1849, where he grew to manhood. In 1870 he came to Iowa, where he married Emily Hixsen in 1872. Two children were born of this union, James McKinney, now residing in eastern Iowa, and Mrs. Ada Erlewine of Van Tassell, with whom he had made his home for the past eight years.

On March 19 he was brought to the hospital in Lusk that the best possible care might be given him, but on account of his age and complications he could no survive.
