Old-time Resident of Manville District Passes on After Long Illness

William S. Pinkerton, who was one of the early settlers of the Manville community, passed away at his home in Manville on Friday, January 24th.

Mr. Pinkerton had been in poor health for about a year.

Coming to the Manville community almost forty years ago, he has been a prominent factor in the upbuilding that section of the county, and he leaves a host of friends who will regret his passing.

Funeral services were held in Manville Sunday, and interment was made in the Manville cemetery, the Midwest Mortuary of Lusk, having charge of the arrangements.

William Sherman Pinkerton was born in Lexington, Ill., August 1, 1864, being 65 years, 5 months and 23 days old at the time of his death. He came to Wyoming in 1887 and was married to Minnie A. Dryer April 2, 1894. To this union six children were born:  Clarence Asa, William Ralph, who died in infancy ; Mattie Pearl (Mrs. C.L. Bedford), Alice Myrtle (Mrs. F.A. Guthrie), William Alvin and Eda Lane.

Besides the widow and children who survive him, he has three brothers and two sisters living, one sister having preceded him in death. Four grandchildren also survive.
