Gorton Hewitt Dies at Home

Gorton Hewitt, 87 years old, and a resident of Wyoming since 1915, died at his home in Van Tassell, on Monday, July 21st.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Van Tassell Congregational Church.

Mr. Hewitt was born in New York, April 1, 1843. Fifteen years ago he moved to Van Tassell from Pierce, Neb. In 1890 he was married to Christina Christensen of Pierce. He is survived by his wife and step-son, Chris Christensen of Kirtley, Wyo.

Rev. Cowman officiated at the funeral services, which were made by the George Earl Peet Mortuary.

The pallbearers were M.J. Kuester, Geo. Hecklebeck, W.H.L Fjordbak, R.A. McHale, Wm. Brunckhorst and John Lohr.
