Carl A. larson, Pioneer of Sioux County, Dies at Home in Harrison, Last Friday
Carl A. Larson, a pioneer of Sioux County, Neb., who was well known in Niobrara County, died at Harrison, Neb., Friday, December 14, at the age of 75 years, after a brief illness.
Mr. Larson was taken suddenly ill on December 10th, with a creeping paralysis, and died four days later.
Funeral services were held in Harrison, Sunday afternoon, which was attended by a large number of relatives and friends.
OBITUARY
Carl August Larson was born December 28, 1859, at Venersborg, Sweden, and died at Harrison, Nebr., December 14, 1934, at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 14 days.
He came to America when about 24 years of age and on April 24, 1884, was united in marriage to Ida Erickson. to this union eight children were born--Lennes of Chadron, Ellen Christian of Crawford, Anton of Van Tassell, Alex of Grand Island, Neb., Fred of Omaha, Roy of Honolulu, Lillie Federle and Ralph of Harrison, Neb.
For many years Mr. and Mrs. Larson made their home nine miles north of Crawford, Neb., moving from there to Van Tassell, Wyo., and later to Harrison. Mr. Larson was section foreman at both places until he retired. He was a pioneer of Sioux County, Neb., homesteading six miles west of Harrison under the Kincaid act.
He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, eight children previously named, one sister, and three brothers in Sweden, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Larson was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Sweden, bu he had attended both the Methodist and Lutheran churches in Harrison.
He was a kind and loving father, a good neighbor, a loyal friend, and will be missed in his community by a host of warm friends.
