Mrs. Horace Davis Dies At Noon Today
Mrs. Horace Davis of Lance Creek passed away at the Lusk Hospital today, Thursday, March 7, at 12:30 p.m. Mrs. Davis underwent a major operation at the Lusk Hospital last Thursday and at the time seemed to be getting along nicely until suddenly a turn for the worse came today.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Horace Davis of Lance Creek, and two children.
She will be remembered as Miss Elizabeth Gentry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Gentry.
Funeral arrangements have not been made, but will be in charge of the Peet Mortuary.
FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. HORACE A. DAVIS, WHO PASSED AWAY LAST THURSDAY

Mrs. Horace A. Davis, aged 21, passed away at the Lusk Hospital last Thursday, March 7th, at 12:30 o'clock in the afternoon. The cause of her death was due to complications arising following a major operation about ten days previous.
Funeral services were held in Manville at the Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with Rev. J.E. Sears officiating. Interment was made at the Manville Cemetery, the Peet Mortuary having charge of the arrangements.
Rev. Seats preached a very comforting sermon and the altar was banked with beautiful floral offerings from friends. Mrs. James Kennedy having charge of this feature. Appropriate music was given by a quartet composed of Mr. Ras Baughn, Mrs. Curt Baughn, Mrs. Sears, and Miss Irma Howard with Emma Howard Richardson as accompanist.
There was not sufficient room in the church for all those who came to pay their last respects to the departed.
Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. G. Gentry of Lance Creek, and was born at Manville on December 17, 1913. She attended school in this county. On March 17 she was united in marriage to Horace Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Davis of Lance Creek, to which union two children were born.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband and two small sons, William Arthur, aged three years, and Edward Ray, four months; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Gentry; three sisters, Isabel Margaret of Lance Creek and Mrs. Thompson of Douglas; three brothers, Ross and Warren, all of whom are living in Lance Creek, and Gould, of Washington, D.C.
The pallbearers were Lowell Crow, Leonard Weigand, Lloyd Crow, L.A. Rogers, Homer Hughes and Bert Gibson.
