Jan Kaan, 80, Passed Away Laast Monday
Jan Albert Kaan, age 80 years, passed away at the ranch home of his son, Menno, Monday morning, Sept. 12th at 7 o'clock from the infirmities of age.
Mr. Kaan was born in Holland, June 18th, 1858 and came to this country in 1911 locating in South Dakota, but cam to Wyoming in 1914 and located on the land near Node where he and his sons still reside.
He was married in Holland and one son still resides there, but three other sons, Menno, Henry and Nick reside on ranches near Lusk. His wife died many years ago.
Mr. Kaan has been a resident of this community for nearly 25 years and by his thrift and industry, he and his sons have built good homes and made fine ranches on land which they homesteaded when they came to Wyoming.
He has been a good neighbor and is highly respected by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held from the Peet Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. George D. Jenkins officiating, Music was furnished bu a quartet composed of Mrs. Templeton, Mrs. R.B. Taylor, J.M. Hungate and F.B. Kuns with Miss Fowler as accompanist .
Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery.
