Winnie May Buchholz
Mrs. August Buchholz passed away at her home in Dubois Wyo., on June 16,1939 after a lingering illness at the age of 45 years, 6 months and 9 days.
Winnie May Galbreath was born at Afton, Iowa on December 7th, 1893. Her parents made their home on a farm until Winnie was six years of age, when they moved to Wyoming, locating about fifty miles north of Lusk on Lance Creek, near what was then Warren, Wyoming. She lived with her parents on their ranch until she was united in marriage to August Buchholz of Lusk, Wyoming in July 1916. To this union six children were born, two of whom preceded their mother in death in infancy, Blanche May and Alma Grace.
Mrs. Buchholz had been sick for a number of years, suffering from a complication of diseases. Several years ago her husband took her to the Mayo Bros. Clinic at Rochester, Minn., later on to the Thornton & Minor clinic at Kansas City, Mo. where she submitted to an operation, which gave her relief for only a short time. Altho her suffering was intense, she was very patient and always greeted her friends with a smile. She was a loving wife and mother, a kindly friend and neighbor, lending a helping hand whenever she could. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband and children, Norris, Mary, Beaulah, and Winnie Fay of Dubois, Wyoming, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Galbreath of Crawford, Nebr.; one niece, Donita May Galbreath of Crawford, Nebr., and a large number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Houston Funeral Home at Crawford, Nebr. conducted by Rev. Roy Gaither and interment was made in the Crawford Cemetery.
