Fred Ellis Victim of Heart Attack
Fred Ellis, well known Lusk resident, passed away at his home in Lusk last Thursday, January 23 from a severe heart attack. Mr. Ellis had been in ill health for several weeks and had been suffering from a heart ailment, however, his condition was such that his sudden death came as a shock to his family and a large circle of friends.
Mr. Ellis had been under the care of a physician for several days and apparently had been improving satisfactorily. Last Thursday he suffered a relapse and a physician was called in. Upon examination of the patient the doctor recommended immediate hospitalization and went to summon an ambulance to move the sick man. Gone but a few minutes, when the doctor returned, Mr. Ellis had passed away.
Funeral services were held at the Peet Mortuary on Saturday, January 25th at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Millard H. Marshall in charge. Mrs. Edna DeCastro and J.M. Hungate sang "Nearer My God to Thee," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "In The Garden," accompanied at the piano by Miss. Alice Fowler. Casket bearers were Lloyd Moore, Frank Moore, Henry Deetjen, Otis Bump, Chris Myrup and Almon Davis. Internment was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Further details of Mr. Ellis' life were not available at this writing and will be published at a later date if they can be secured. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and several children by a former marriage.
NOTE: It is stated here that Mr. Ellis was interred in the Lusk Cemetery, however, historical cemetery documents indicate that he was interred in the Van Tassell, Wyoming cemetery.
