Funeral Held for Dennis McDaniel
Funeral services for Dennis McDaniel, 18, who died last Wednesday night, as the result of a motorcycle accident, were held from the Peet Chapel Friday at 2:30 with interment in the Lusk Cemetery.
Dennis was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Paul McDaniel of Bright. June 11 he had purchased a motorcycle in Douglas and rode it to the ranch home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Jones who live some 40 miles north of Lusk.
On arriving at the ranch, he apparently was unable to stop the machine and crashed through a fence and into the wall of a bunkhouse where he was discovered shortly later by his grandmother.
Brought to Lusk, he remained alive but unconscious for five days. Death was attributed to a severe concussion and brain hemorrhage.
Dennis Oscar McDaniel was born in Edgemont, S.Dak., December 29,1929.
Burial services were conducted by Rev. Lawrence P. Juell, pastor of the Congregation Church of Lusk.
During the services Don Unruh, Rex Yocum, Mrs. C.E. Marvin and Mrs. anita Culver sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."
Pallbearers were Samuel W. Smyth, Donald DeGering, Loren Walker, James Pfister, Jack Pfister and Kenneth Houx.
Surviving besides his parents are four brothers, Bill, Jack, Pat and Tommy; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P.W. McDaniel of Polk, Nebr.; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
