Franklin Robert Carlisle
F.R. Carlisle Dises in Nebraska, Thursday
F.R. Carlisle, a former resident of Lusk and Lance Creek, died at York, Neb. Thursday, April 22 at the age of 88 years.
Harry Carlisle and Mr. and Mrs. James McCune of Lusk and Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Johnson of Lance Creek went to Nebraska where funeral services were held at Newport Sunday afternoon at 2:00.
The services were conducted by a minister from Bassett, and the Odd Fellow services were also used.
Mr. Carlisle made his home with his children most of the time since his wife's death in 1918 and left here less than three years ago. Since then he has been cared for at the Odd Fellow home at York, Neb.
Franklin Robert Carlisle was born in Columbia County, Wisc. Oct. 10, 1859 and when six years of age moved with his parents to Plainview, Minn. In 1871 the family moved to Nebraska where on Dec. 16, 1866 he married Olie Adeline Eaton. They were the parents of 12 children, one dying in infancy and another son, Dariel Carlisle of Lance Creek, died January 22, 1945.
He is survived by the following children: Orilla Williams, Woods, S.D.; Maggie Conrad, Phoenix, Ariz,; Maude Johnson, Guernsey, Wyo.; Ray Carlisle, Stuart, Neb.; Alice Morrison, Milwaukee, Ore.; Mabel Johnson, Lance Creek; Nellie Porter, Gordon, Nebr.; Lillie McCune, Lusk; Harry Carlisle, Lusk; Gladys Veenker, Portland, Ore.
There are 53 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
