Paul Miller Dies Suddenly at Field

The sudden death of Paul C. Miller, Tuesday afternoon, came as a shock to friends her and at Lance Creek.

Although Mr. Miller had been suffering from a heart ailment for some time, he was able to be about and look after his business at Lance Creek. He was taken with a severe heart seizure Tuesday afternoon at his home in Lance Creek and died at 3:45 before a physician arrived.

The ambulance from the Peet Mortuary brought the remains to Lusk and funeral services will be conducted from the chapel at 2 p.m. on Friday.

Mr. Miller was 56 years of age, having been born at Ardmore, So. Dak., December 22,1891. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller, both of whom were natives of Germany.

He has lived in Niobrara County much of the time since a young man and for the past nine years has resided at Lance Creek.

He is survived by his wife, one step-daughter and two step-sons, Emmett Glenn of Providence, R.I., and Arthur (Skee) Glenn of Powell.

The sudden death of Paul Miller, Tuesday, came as a shock to his many friends here in the field. Mr. Miller has been suffering from a heart ailment for quite some time, but has always been able to be up and around and to look after his business.

He was taken suddenly ill at about 3:45 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and died before the doctor could get there.

Mr. Miller was 56 years of age, having been born at Ardmore, So. Dak., December 22,1891. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller, both of whom were natives of Germany. He has lived in Niobrara County much of the time since a young man and for the past nine years has resided at Lance Creek.

He is survived by his wife Carrie; one step-daughter, and three step-sons, Emmett Glenn of Providence, Rhode Island, and Arthur (Skee) Glenn of Powell, and Bud Glenn of Casper.

The remains were taken to the Peet Mortuary in Lusk, where the funeral services were conducted from the chapel at 2:00 p.m., Friday, with Rev. Lawrence Juell officiating. Those from away attending the funeral were Francis Mill and daughter from Edgemont, So. Dak.; Harry Miller of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Miller and family from Ardmore, So. Dak., all brothers of Mr. Miller Mrs. M.J. Atkins from Ft. Worth, Texas, a sister; Mr. and Mrs. Bus Tate from Edgemont, So. Dak.; Mrs. Mary Bebout of Sheridan; Dave, Dick and Mike Miller, all nieces and nephews of Mr. Miller; Mrs. Emma Halverson, Mrs. Harry Dame, Mrs Claire E. Coutts and Leo Larson, all sisters; and a brother of Mrs. Miller, all of Mobridge; Mrs. Miller's children, who were Mrs. Harry Carstairs of Casper, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Glenn of Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Glenn of Casper, and Mrs. Mary Wallace of Edgemont, was another relative.

Mr. Miller was well known here and at Midwest, where he and Mrs. Miller were both charter members of the VFW post and Auxiliary, Teapot Dome No. 2291 of Midwest, Wyo., an organization they both have belonged to for many years.
