Welchie "Slim" Ernest Patterson
W. E. Patterson Dies March 26
Welchie E. (Slim) Patterson, 61, died in the Spencer Hospital March 26. He had been in ill health for the past several years. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:00 a.m. from the Peet Chapel with Rev. Otha B. Holcomb officiating. Burial was in the Van Tassell Cemetery.
Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Otha Holcomb sand "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Adams, William Henritze, Lester Lewis, Fred Dean, Andrew McMaster, Gale Werner, Robert Packard and George Seibken.
Welchie Ernest Patterson was born in Wayne county, Nebraska August 22, 1897, the son of George and Anna Patterson.
He lived in south Dakota until 19 years of age at which time he came to Wyoming, making his home in the vicinity of Van Tassell until ill health caused him to move to Lusk over a year ago.
He and Pearl Westerman were married September 14, 1922 at Chadron. They were the parents of four children: Kenneth of Belle Fourche; Verla (Mrs. Merle) Tucker of Portland Ore., Florence (Mrs. James) Potter of Cheyenne, and Welchie, Jr. of Van Tassell.
Survivors include his wife and four children, 14 grandchildren, his aged father and step-mother, three sisters, five half-sisters and two half-brothers. His mother, two sisters and one brother previously died.
