James Brannon dies Sunday
James "Oscar" Brannon, 82, Died Sunday evening in the Torrington hospital after being hospitalized there since October 24 following a massive heart attack.
Brannon, former president of the local AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) had accompanied Wilda Miller, also of Lusk, to Laramie to attend a two-day conference entitled "Senior Day" at the the University of Wyoming on October 23-24.
Mrs. Miller said that the morning of October 24 she was notified that Brannon was ill and it was suggested by the man he was rooming with that she immediately take him to a lower altitude because of the possibility of a heart condition. In Torrington Mrs. Miller took Brannon to the medical clinic from where he was immediately admitted to the hospital.
The remains have been shipped to San Diego, Calif., for burial. the retired chief engineer of a tuna fleet had relatives there.
