Mr. Baldwin was the Electrical Foreman for the University of Wyoming before his retirement in 1973.
Mr. Baldwin's major vocation was demonstrated by his work in Boy and Girl Scouts. He started this participation with the Boy Scouts, as Scoutmaster of Troop 133 sponsored by the Loyal Order of Moose and he has been a registered scouter since that time. This service includes service as Explorer Advisor in addition to almost every position on the Snowy Range District Committee, several terms as Commissioner and two as Chairman, one in 1957 and one in 1958.
Since his special interest was outdoor activities, he was active on both the District and Long's Peak Council Camp Development Committees. He was the major driving force, and workman in the construction of the lodge at Chimney Park Boy Scout Camp above Wood's Landing. When the lodge was dedicated August 2, 1954, he reluctantly agreed to the name: Lee Baldwin Lodge. Lee earned almost every training award that the Council could grant, and in 1959 was awarded the Council's highest honor, the Silver Beaver Award. Among Scouters in the area none was regarded with greater respect, love, and admiration.
As a member of the Wyoming Girl Scout Council, Lee was active in establishing camp facilities throughout the state including Tensleep, Hynds Lodge, Happy Jack, and Chimney Park.
Mr. Baldwin attended the University of Wyoming in 1927 majoring in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the National Guard for 18 years with the medical corps in Lusk and F-Troop Cavalry in Laramie until 1944.
Mr. Baldwin flew with Civil Air Patrol in the 50's and participated in many rescue missions. He was a long time member of Moose Lodge No. 390 and L. O. O. M.
