Julia Louisa Piper

Funeral services for Julia Piper, 57, of Harrison, Nebraska, will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crawford on Friday, March 31, 2017, at 10 a.m. with Father Arul Innaiah officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Crawford. A Rosary will be Thursday, March 30, at 7 p.m. at the church.

Ms. Piper passed away on March 25, 2017, in Crawford Nebraska. Julia Louisa Piper was born August 12, 1959, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Crawford, Nebraska, the second daughter of Franklin and Marie (Bogner) Piper.

Julia grew up on the family homestead 18 miles east and north of Harrison. She attended Highland (District #5) Elementary School. She graduated from Sioux County High School, attended Chadron State College for two years, and graduated from Western Nebraska Community College in Sidney. Julia worked various jobs, from road construction, building fence, and checking windmills. She had a hand in caring for several of her nieces and nephews, and great niece and nephew. She was also a caregiver for the last five years of her mother's life.

She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Dieckmann of Lusk, WY, Rosa Roberts of Crawford, and Cheryl (Craig) Scherbarth of Wallace; brothers, Franklin Piper Jr., of Harrison, and Marvin Piper, of Scribner; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Marie (Bogner) Piper, brothers-in-law, Bruce Roberts, and Ray Dieckmann, and sister-in law, Carol Piper.
