Mary Stewart Cross Of Torrington Dies
Mary Stewart Cross, 76, of Torrington died in Denver the evening of December 27.
She was born December 9, 1887 at Cedar Rapids, Neb., and came to Mitchell with her parents at an early age. She attended Mitchell schools and was a student of music at Nebraska Wesleyan of Lincoln.
On November 26, 1912, she married Clyde L. Cross and they made their home near Mitchell. He died in August 1934. She has resided at Torrington for the past two and one-half years.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Fred Newell, of Agate, a nephew, Harold Stewart of Harrison, four other nephews and three nieces.
Christian Science services were held December 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Mortuary with Mrs. Frances Nelson as reader. Burial was in the Mitchell Valley cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stewart attended the funeral services.
