Pauline Joyce Logar

Funeral services for Pauline Joyce Logar, 88, were March 28, 2016, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Tom Strock officiating. Interment followed at the Dellview Cemetery, Manville, Wyoming.

Pauline Logar died Monday, March 21, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas.

Pauline and twin sister, Maxine, were born Saturday, June 4, 1927, in Chadron, Nebraska, to Raymond Walter and Elsie May (Palmer) Hess.

Pauline graduated from high school in Harrison, Nebraska in 1944. Pauline sold Avon for 37 years in Niobrara County, and served on the election board at Lance Creek and later Manville. She taught knitting at the Lance Creek 4-H Club, and taught guitar lessons on and off all her life. She and twin sister, Maxine, sang, played, and yodeled all through high school and life. They had the Hess Family Band for years and all the family took part. They played all over Western Nebraska, and Pauline entertained in Niobrara and Converse County all her life. Pauline and her niece, Claudia Teeters, and children entertained the people at Niobrara County Nursing Home, and later she formed the "Country Singers".

Pauline married Raymond Wibur "Bud" Ellis, September 12, 1948, and they had three sons, Dennis, David, and Douglas. They were married 54 years when Bud passed away February 15, 2003. They had moved from Manville to Douglas in 2001.

Her hobbies were crocheting, knitting, sewing, making jewelry and belts, making jelly and sunbonnets. She sold 45 sunbonnets for the Lusk Bicentennial.

Pauline loved to watch her husband Bud, sons, and grandsons break horses and go to ropings and rodeos. She helped "time" at the Lance Creek roping and a few others. She also enjoyed son Dennis' old car hobby and son Doug's "Shadows Band" and all of her music adventures. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pauline met Henry Logar in November 2006, and they were married August 1, 2008.

She was a member of the Keeline Club and was a lifetime member of the Manville Homemakers Club. She belonged to the "Circle of Esther" at the Manville Church, and worked with the Manville Youth Group and was their cheerleader for three years. She was the choir leader at the First Baptist Church in Lusk for several years.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Henry Logar of Douglas; sons, Dennis Ellis of Alliance, David Ellis of Casper, WY, and Douglas Ellis of Minor Hill, TN; step-son Greg Logar of Douglas; step-daughter, Theresa Holsinger of Billings, MT; twin sister, Maxine Hackelman of Torrington, WY; sister, Opal Hanley of Harrison; grandchildren, Tasha Ellis, Windi Willette, TJ Ellis, and Kyle Ellis; four great grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her father, Raymond, mother, Elsie, first husband, Bud, brother Kenneth Hess; sister Patricia Smith, and infant sisters Thelma Hess and Wanda Hess.

Serving as pallbearers were Tim Glendy, Scott Smith, Chad Smith, Jake Loger, Pat Copp, and Raymond Hanley.

A memorial to the Pauline J. Elllis Logar Memorial Fund in care of the Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
