Laurie Lee Crawford
On the 12th of March Laurie decided to reunite with the love of her life. She was 55 years old at the time of her death and was at her home in Lusk that she and her husband Larry lived and loved in.
Services will be held at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds in Lusk on the 9th of April at 2:00pm. If guests would like to make a memorial please do so to Santa's Helpers.
Laurie was born March 14, 1960 in Hot Springs, SD and grew up in Custer. Her parents were Mick and Barbara (Leyson) Maddox. She had the good fortune to spend a good amount of time as a child with her maternal grandparents, Bob and Evy Leyson. Laurie was an average student through high school but blossomed into an accomplished one during her college career. She graduated from Black Hills State in Spearfish, SD with honors earning her Bachelor's degree in criminal justice. During that time Laurie met and fell in love with Larry Crawford. They were married soon after and never looked back. Together they built a wonderful life together living and loving in Rawlins, Custer, and Lusk. She was employed most of her adult life by the Wyoming Dept. of Corrections and recently retired from the Wyoming Women's Center in Lusk.
Laurie was a fierce advocate for people in need and had an affinity towards animals that kept her dogs spoiled and happy and every stray cat in her corner of town fed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Larry, her parents, and younger sister Connie. Survivors are brother Dave of Great Falls MT, nephews Matt, Missoula MT, Cris, Fort Collins CO, Austin, Great Falls MT, and niece Brittnie Alamogordo NM.
