Ruth Alice Snedeker
Ruth Alice Snedeker, age 93, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away February 16, 2016, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs, SD.
Ruth was born on July 21, 1922, to William J. Yeager and Arta O. (Lightwine) Yeager, in Niobrara County, WY. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Juanita Schroeder of Wall, SD; Jesse Sockie of Lisco, NE; Nancy Hawthorne of Reno, NV; sister-in-law, Lucia Yeager of Newcastle, WY; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her two husbands, Darrel Hawthorn, Carl Snedeker; brother, Harold H. Yeager; and 2 grandchildren.

Ruth Alice Snedeker, 93, passed away February 16, 2016 at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs, SD.
She was a long time resident of Mule Creek Jct. and was born on the homestead in Niobrara County to William "Jess" Yeager and Arla Opal Lightwine. Ruth graduated from Newcastle High School and later Grand Island Business College.
Ruth married Darrel Hawthorne on Oct. 13, 1943, and to this union three daughters were born - Juanita Schroeder, Jessie Soske and Nancy Jo Hawthorne. Two stepsons, Michael and Tony Hawthorne and a foster daughter, Betty Miller joined the family during this marriage. She later married Carl Snedeker and a stepson, Jim Snedeker joined as well.
Ruth was a ranch woman who loved her land and her animals. Little Bo Peep (her CB handle) shows how much she cared for her sheep. She loved helping her neighbors up and down the Cheyenne River Road with various events. Ruth also helped her neighbors when she lived in Dewey. She was a good neighbor. Ruth loved to cook and bake, especially pies.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Juanita (Veryl) Schroeder of Wall, SD; Jessie Soske of Lisco, NE; and Nancy Jo Hawthorne, Reno, NV; stepson, Tony Hawthorne, Hot Springs, SD; and Jim Snedeker of Hume, MO; 11 Grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Darrel Hawthorne, Carl Snedeker; brother, Harold H. Yeager; stepson, Michael Hawthorne; foster daughter, Betty Miller; grandson, Brad Soske; and granddaughter, Christy Schroeder.
A Celebration of Life picnic will be held at a later date.
