Darlene Lorrelle Wick

Funeral services for Darlene Lorrelle Wick, 80, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Church of Our Saviour on Main Street in Hartville, Wyoming with The Reverend Rex Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Smith Family Ranch Cemetery, 332 Patten Creek Road, Glendo, Wyoming with Eastern Star rituals to be conducted.

Darlene Wick died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home in Casper, Wyoming.

Darlene was born to parents, Herman Paul and Alice Elizabeth (Morgan Kroeger on Monday, June 17, 1935 in Wheatland, Wyoming.

She attended school and graduated from Sunrise High School in Sunrise, Wyoming in 1953.

On February 11, 1956, she married Lauren H. "Jack" Smith of Glendo, Wyoming and into this union two children were born, a son, Ronald P. "Ron" and Darla D., and the couple later divorced.

On August 5, 1978 she married William C. Wick in South Dakota, and a son was born to this union, William Paul "Billy".

Darlene worked at the Guernsey Medical Clinic and Guernsey Drug Store as manager for many years. In the 1980's, Darlene worked as a green thumber at the Guernsey, Wyoming Child and Family Center's main office and continued working and volunteering until 2014, when she moved to Casper, Wyoming.

Darlene was a devoted member of the Order of Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Grand Matron, Alvada Chapter #43, from 1974-2006. A position she held eight times. Alvada Chapter #43 consolidated with the Woodvine Chapter and the Golden West Chapter #37 of the Eastern Star on February 1, 2012. She became a dual member of the Golden West Chapter #37 and the Glenrock Chapter on March 14, 2014, where she was still actively serving as a Line Officer at the time of her death.

She served as Grand Worthy Matron and Grand Officer and loved to sing in the Grand Choir. On October 26, 2015, Darlene earned her 50 year pin and certificate, for continued membership.

She was an active member of the Church of Our Saviour in Hartville.

Darlene thoroughly enjoyed visiting, playing cards, games, crocheting, and being active with the Church and Eastern Star.

She was a beloved member of her family and will be missed by all whom knew and loved her.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Alice Kroeger; brothers, George and Paul Kroeger; a son, William Paul "Billy" Wick, on May 19, 2000; and her former husband William C. Wick.

She was survived by her son, Ronald P. "Ron" and his wife, Sandra Smith, of Lusk, Wyoming and a daughter, Darla D.(Smith) Rees, Salt Lake City, Utah.

She had six grandchildren, Zachery (Elizabeth) Moore, and children, Mackenzie and Izaac, of Douglas, Wyoming, B.J.(Shannon) Smith and children of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Christopher (Amber) Smith, and children, Jackson and Marleigh, of Silverdale, Washington, Heather (Angel) Damien and children, Brookelynne and Curtis of Angleton, Texas, and Heidi Eggert and David Eggert and son, David Jr. of Arvada, Colorado; her brothers, Lonnie (Twila) Kroeger, of Casper Wyoming and Zane Kroeger of Casper, Wyoming; her sisters, Nadine (Ron) Orszulak, of Casper, Wyoming, Gaylene Zahn of Pueblo, Colorado, and Eldine Bourgeois of Laramie, Wyoming; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial to the Darlene L. Wick Memorial Fund in care of Lusk State Bank, P.O. Box 1400, Lusk, Wyoming 82225 would be appreciated by the family.

Serving as pallbearers were Zachery Moore, Sean Orszulak, Jadee Kroeger, Bradley Barclay, Kohl Tlustos, and Ukiah Senti.
