Edward Mayes

Last Thursday about six o'clock Ed. Mayes, a respected settler of Rawhide Buttes was kicked in the abdomen by a horse. He suffered terribly for two days, and on Saturday afternoon breathed his last. The funeral was held on Tuesday. Mr. Mayes has been in the Territory for years, and he leaves many friends to sympathize with his bereaved family.

The body of Ed Mayes was exhumed this week from its resting place at Rawhide Buttes and transferred to the Lusk cemetery.
