Zipporah Elizabeth Runyon Barr was born near Danville, Highland County, Ohio, August 28, 1848. She was married to Gilbert L. Barr in January 1866. To this union were born ten children, six girls and four boys. The husband and eight children survive her. She united with the Methodist Church in 1886 and remained a faithful worker in it to the day of her death.

In 1868, Mr. Barr moved to Marion county, Iowa, living there until 1879, when they moved to Western Nebr., and later to University Place, Nebr. In 1892 they moved to Norcatur, Kansas, and in the spring of 1915 they moved to Wyoming near Lost Springs, where she died October 19, 1915, aged 68 years, 1 month, and 23 days.

The funeral services were held from the Prairie View Church, Saturday October 21, led by the Rev. Orman C. King, of Manville, Wyoming.
