Madeleine "Maddie" Lucille Corrente
Madeleine "Maddie" Lucille Corrente, 92, passed away Tue., March 31, 2015, at Niobrara Health and Life Center. A memorial service was held at Pier Funeral Home Mon., Apr. 6, 2015, with Father Drew Duncan officiating.
Madeleine was born on August 17, 1922 to Joseph and Blanche (Marcure) Nadeau in Fall River, Mass. She went to school in Fall River and in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
She was married to Anthony Corrente for 50 years. They lived and raised a daughter and son in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and lived in Coventry, Rhode Island. She worked as a waitress and retail. Later in life she pursued a degree in Business.
Maddie was always deeply involved in church, being a devout Catholic.
She loved growing strawberries and tomatoes, was an avid Bingo player, loved to play cards and, of course, Yahtzee. Her favorite hobbies were crafts and making porcelain dolls. She was outgoing, independent and very generous. She had a spunky spirit and always a smile. And very often she had a comeback for everything.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Mercer, and son Douglas Anthony Corrente, son-in law Michael Mercer, grandson Christopher Anthony Corrente, and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Anthony Corrente, who passed away in 1996. She will be interred by her husband's side in the Catholic Cemetery in Oxnard, California.
