Funeral Services For Floyd Lantis Held November 12
Funeral services for Floyd Lantis, husband of the former Helen Moore of Lance Creek, were held at the Methodist Church in Burell, Nebr. November 12. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery at Rose, Nebr.
Mr. (Lantis) died a few hours after being fatally burned at 5:45 p.m. November 11. A gasoline tank exploded on a car which he was cutting up with a torch. His body was saturated with gas and flames covered his body. His mother was wirth him at the time and called the fire department. He was rushed to the Burwell Hospittal and died at 1:30 a.m.
Advised of the tragedy, mr. and Mrs. Lee Morre left Lance Creek November 11 to be with their daughter.
Floyd Lantis was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lantis. He was born July 11, 1926 at Verdel, Knox County, Nebr. The family moved to the ranch in Rock County when he was five, and has lived there since. In April, 1956, Floyd went to work on construction at Lusk where he met Helen Moore. They were married at the burwell Methodist parsonage July 21, 1956.
Besides his wife and parents, survivors include two brothers, Ivan and martin, at the family home.
