Mrs. Lewis Evert Dies In Cheyenne Aug. 29
Mrs. Lewis Evert, 63, of Cheyenne, formerly of Niobrara county, died August 29 at her home from a heart attack. Funeral services were held August 31 from Wiederspahn Chapel of the Chimes with Rev. Frank Teal officiating. Burial was made in Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne.
Casket bearers were Edwin Keimig, Loyal Oliver, Clifford Evert, Fred Baker, Harold Hickman and Charles Henson.
Nettie A. Hanks was born July 27, 1893 in Shenandoah, Ia. When three years of age she moved with her family to Hay Springs, Nebr.
In 1914, she homesteaded near Burge Wyo. where she taught school until 1928. She and Lewis Evert were married in 1918 and were the parents of two children, Mrs. Lewis M. Lynn of Cheyenne and Leslie of Gordon.
In 1936 the family moved to Bayard, Nebr. from Burge and resided there until 1951 when they sold their farm and moved to Cheyenne where they have since made their home.
Survivors include her husband, daughter, son and four grandchildren as well as several brothers and sisters.
