ANOTHER PIONEER OF STATE ANSWERS CALL OF GRIM REAPER WEDNESDAY

End Comes in Early Morning Following Months of Illness; Funeral to Be Held Friday Afternoon

Sadness has fallen upon another Lusk home and the entire community is shrouded in sorrow upon the passing of Mrs. Emily Randolph Barber, who died at her home here at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, following an illness of several month's duration. For the past two months Mrs. Barber had been confined to her bed and her recovery was doubtful for some time past. As time passed, her condition became worse and her strength ebbed steadily until the Great mater relieved her suffering and took her to the Great Beyond.

Emily Izetta Randolph was born at Reedsville Ohio October 4, 1864 and died at Lusk Wyoming, June 30, 1926, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 26 days.

She continued her home in Reedsville with her parents and family until 1893 when she came to Wyoming. On May 15th, 1893, she was wedded to Columbus A. Barber at the Ed Barber ranch south of Lusk and has since that time been a resident of this county.

Mrs. Barber was one of the pioneers of Wyoming and one of those women who braved the hardships of early days when this county was thinly settled. Her time was divided between their town and ranch homes, but for the past several years Mr. and Mrs. Barber have lived almost continually in Lusk.

The deceased was a member of the Methodist church at Reedsville, and upon coming to Lusk was active in church work for years, being a teacher in the classes of the Congregational Sunday school here.

She was also a charter member of Lusk Rebekah Lodge No. 12 and at the time of it's organization, served as first presiding officer. She was active in fraternal circles until the past few years when her home duties, combined with illness, took her from this work in which she was so greatly interested.

Mrs. Barber is survived by her husband, C. A. Barber, a daughter by adoption, Mrs. Cecil Thompson of Lusk; her mother, Mrs. Mary Randolph; two brothers, Dayton and Alfred Randolph of Reedville, Ohio; seven sisters, Miss Ollie Randolph, Mrs. Josephine Pickens, Mrs. Myrtle Arnot and Mrs. Sylvina Kemper, all of Reedsville, Ohio; Mrs. Nellie Seckman of East Liverpool, Ohio; Mrs. Ella Fellows of Longbottom, Ohio; and Mrs. Lula Murray of Middleport, Ohio. Her father and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, July 2nd, and will be in charge of the Lusk Rebekah order. Interment will be made in the Lusk cemetery where a short ceremony will also be conducted at the grave.

In the death of Mrs. Barber, Lusk has lost one who helped build this town and state and her friends, numbered alone by her acquaintances deeply feel the loss. The sincere sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved.

There will be a special meeting of
Lusk Rebekah Lodge No. 12 at the Community hall, Friday morning at 10 o'clock for the purpose of making arrangements for the last rites of Mrs. C. A. Barber. All members are urgently requested to be present at the hour requested.
