Services for William (Bill) Henry Brown, 74, of Lusk, were held on Friday, Aug. 31 at Memorial Chapel in Casper with Rev. Vernon D. Carpenter of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Casper. Brown died after a lengthy illness on Aug. 28.
Brown was born on July 4, 1910 in Powder River. He was the son of Grant and Elizabeth Searls. He had been employed as a carman for C B & Q railroad until his retirement in 1973 after 43 years of service. He and his wife lived in Evansville and Casper. After his retirement in 1973 they moved to Lusk.
Brown married Margret Helen Kelsey, March 20, 1940 in Casper. He had been a member of the Box Butte Lodge, No. 743, Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.
Brown is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Bill Scott of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Jim Cochran of Casper and Mrs. Loyd Adams of Van Tassel; one son, David Joseph Brown of Evansville; five grandsons, six granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brown was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
