Mary Jane Carter
When the church bell tolled on Friday morning last at four o'clock, it was well known that the angel of death had again entered our midst and taken away one of our neighbors. The news that Mary Jane Carter, sister of O. P. Goodwin, had passed away, was soon spread around. Deceased had been suffering for some time with various complications and death came as a relief. Everything was done that could be in the way of obtaining medical assistance and tender care, but without success. Mrs. Carter possessed many of the graces, virtues and accomplishments which enable human character and which command respect and admiration. Her life was a constant devotion to her duties as a neighbor and all who knew her greatly admired and respected her. At time of death she was 68 years of age. The remains were laid to rest beside those of other relatives that had gone before her, on the ranch of Wm. Reynolds, two miles south of Lusk. May she rest in peace.
