Memorial services for ORPHA BELLE BALDWIN, 87, will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm with Pastor Dusty Sprague officiating. Belle passed away on October 31, 2014 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington. She was a 9 year stage 4 breast cancer survivor and the Lord took her home while sleeping peacefully. Cremation has taken place and private burial of the ashes will be held at a later date in Lusk, Wyoming. Memorials may be directed to the "Inn Touch" Program at Regional West Medical Center, 4021 Avenue B, Scottsbluff, NE 69361 or to any other charity of the donor's choice. Belle was a pre-term baby and the first child born to Morgan and Myrtle (Palmer) Norris on December 26, 1926 at the family homestead north of Torrington. She received her early schooling in northern Goshen County at the Happy Hallow and the Midway country schools, and then continuing at Torrington High School.

Belle met her lifetime mate, Harry R. Baldwin, at a dance at the Prairie Center School. The couple married on April 8, 1951 at the Congregational Church in Torrington, Wyoming. They were married for 57 years... a marriage promise kept.

Belle and husband, Harry, owned and operated their registered Angus cattle ranch from 1951 to 1991. Many newborn ranch babies were helped along by Belle's gentle touch.

Belle was a member of the Help One Another Club for 63 years, the Prairie Center Homemakers Extension Club during the 1960's and a 59 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Belle is survived by her three sons, Gerald Baldwin of Van Tassell, Wyoming; Barry (Melva) Baldwin also of Van Tassell; and Loren (Christina) Baldwin of Springview, Nebraska; a brother Gene (Patty) Norris of Torrington; a sister, Evelyn (Gale) Smith of Wheatland, Wyoming; seven grandchildren, Chandra Baldwin of Laramie, WY; Ashley Baldwin Parrie of Casper, WY; Meagan Baldwin of Neligh NE; Robert Baldwin of Beloit, KS; Elizabeth Baldwin of Springview,NE; Joni Matthews of Wheatland, WY; and Jill Waymire of Torrington, WY; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry and a brother Paul Norris.
