Stewart "Bob" Marable
Bob Lewis, who works at the Collins house, met with a painful and almost fatal accident this morning. He mounted a brocho with the intention of riding out to Tom Black's ranch, but somehow or other the bronc did not seem inclined to move off smoothly and commenced to buck at a lively rate. Bob
stayed in the saddle
for some time, but as the pony would buck the saddle horn kept belting Bob in the stomach. He could stay in the saddle no longer and finally fell to the ground. He did not get up and a crowd soon gathered around to see if he was hurt and found him insensible, he having received injuries in the stomach. He was carried to the hotel and is now resting easy.

Sad Death of Stewart Marable
Last week The Herald made mention of Bob Lewis being thrown from a brocho while attempting to ride it. The boy's right name was Stewart Marable, but was commonly known around town as Bob.
When he was first thrown from the horse all seemed to think he would be all right after a few hours' rest, but by the next day it was plain to be seen that the boy was badly hurt and Dr. Jesurun of Douglas, was telegraphed for and arrived here at 5:30 but the boy could not be aroused and seemed to be peacefully sleeping. he kept in this condition until half past two o'clock when he breathed his last.
The cause of his death was a puzzle to the physicians and it was decided to hold a post mortem examination and ascertain the cause. It was found that the skull had been cracked in three or four places and an artery running to the brain had mashed down as flat as though it had been crushed by some heavy weight. The physicians claim no power on earth could have saved the boy.
From the time he got hurt up to the hour of his death Tom Black, for whom the boy was working, watched or had some one watch by his bedside.
Stewart Marable was a boy of good habits, gentlemanly in appearance and showed in every day life that he was of good parentage. His remains were put in a neat casket and on Monday shipped to his father at Memphis, Tennessee.
