Mrs. Emma Nelson Dies on Wednesday

Friends and neighbors were deeply grieved by the death of Mrs. Emma Nelson on Wednesday. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk.

Emma M. Nelson, daughter of Fred and Caroline Hinrichson, was born Nov. 10, 1886 at Hooper, Nebr. and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. As a young girl she moved to Scribner, Nebr. where she grew to womanhood. On Dec. 20, 1905 she married Andrew C. Nelson of Scribner, who preceded her in death Mar. 10, 1948.

Twelve children were born to this union, two of whom preceded their parents in death. In 1915 the family came to the Lance Creek area in Wyoming where they operated a ranch for 30 years. About two years ago they retired at their home near Gateway.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by five sons and five daughters, 19 grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers. The sons are Fred of Grants Pass, Ore.; Melvin of Keeline, Wyo.; Elmer, Linden and Lester, of Lance Creek. The daughters are Mrs. Olga Maxwell of Lance Creek; Mrs. Laverne Jess of Scotia, Neb.; Mrs. Betty Taylor of Cody; Miss Violet and Ramona Nelson of Denver, Colo. The sisters are Mrs. Minnie Studt of Scribner, Neb. and Mrs. Art Welle of Arapahoe, Color. The brothers are Claus Hinrichson of Fremont, Neb.; John Hinrichson of Manville; Adolph Hinrichson of Powell; and William Hinrichson of Seattle, Wash.

Mrs. Nelson passed away after a short illness at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk May 19 at the age of 61.

Out of town relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nelson and two children from Murphy Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Jess of Scotia, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Taylor of Cody; Violet and Ramona Nelson of Denver; Mr. and Mrs. Art Wells of Arapahoe, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. (Claus) Hinrichson of Fremont, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson, Scribner, Neb.; Mrs. Will Nelson and son Harold of Ord, Neb.

The pallbearers were Jim Klint, Marvin Skillings, Guy Mosier, Leonard Ong, Bill Humphrey and Fred Hanson. The field extends deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
