Lynn "Monk" E. Barkus

Lynn (Monk) Barkus, a former resident of Harrison, died December 23, 1987 at the Niobrara Memorial Nursing Home. He was born November 12, 1908 in Malvern, IA.
On August 17, 1935 he married Verda Pullen at Hot Springs, SD. He worked on ranches until 1948 when he moved into Harrison where he was a carpenter and the night Marshall until his retirement.
Survivors include one son, Donald of Lyman, NE; three daughters, Mona Teasdale of Lusk, Theone Quintard of Long Beach, CA and Aletha Carstens of Meridian, ID; one brother Robert Barkus, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Verda, mother, father and three brothers.
