Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Hanson

Services for Elizabeth ( Betty) Jane Eberspecher Hanson were Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Harrison Catholic Church.
Elizabeth died May 16th at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow at the age of 83. Betty was born to Jess Christian (Chris) and Kathryn (Doyle) Eberspecher on March 11, 1931.
She attended elementary school at Bodarc and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1948. She taught school for two years. She was then employed at the Sioux County Treasurer's Office. On October 19, 1950 she married Herb Hanson. To this union, three children were born, Judy Lynn, James Dee and John Bradley. When her children started school, they moved to Harrison.
She then started working and finally retired from the Harrison Post Office. She moved to Torrington in 2004 and then to an assisted living in Broken Bow ten months ago. She loved playing cards and visiting with friends and family.
Betty is survived by a daughter Judy and (Harold) McCaslin of Broken Bow; a grandson Andy and (Debby) Devine and great grandson Barrett of Ogallala; a granddaughter Elizabeth and (Shawn) Nelson of Long Pine; and step-grandchildren Jodi and (Tim) Loy of Berwyn, Thomas and (Anne) McCaslin of Broken Bow and Michael McCaslin also of Broken Bow; six siblings, (Jack) and Patsy Garner of Lusk, WY, Jerry and the late Joan Eberspecher of Crawford, Kathleen and the late Warren Gilbert of Salt Lake City, UT, John and (Mavis) Eberspecher of Harrison, Evelyn and (Monty) Carland of Lusk, WY, and Spike and (Peggy) Eberspecher of Scottsbluff as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Chris and Katie), two sons (Jim and infant John Bradley), husband (Herb), a sister (Wilma Eberspecher) and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Harrison Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
