Ned G. Lieuallen
Ned G. Lieuallen, 82, of Ft. Laramie, Wyo. died Feb. 13, 2014. Ned G. Lieuallen was born Oct. 27, 1931 to Beach and Bessie (Sloan) Lieuallen. Ned grew up and attended school in Colo. and Wyo., graduating high school in May 1950. On Sept. 11, 1950 Ned joined the National Guard where he served his country in the Korean War. He served in the 141st Tank Battalion and was promoted to Tech Sergeant in July 1951. He was honorably discharged from the Guard in June of 1952. For his service in Korea he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Overseas Bar and the United States Service Medal.
Ned was a true entrepreneur with a pioneer spirit. He was employed by the State of Wyoming for ten years as a Brand Inspector. He owned and operated Lieuallen Trenching and a local restaurant in Basin, but was always happiest when he was farming, riding and running cattle. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Mr. Lieuallen is survived by his long time companion, Linda Dunn. Sons Mike Lieuallen, John (Billie) Lieuallen of Sheridan, Wyo. and Jesse Lieuallen of Dallas, Tex. Daughters Diane Lieuallen of Casper, Wyo., Michele Lieuallen of Florence, Mont. and Shawn (Lynn) Young of Buffalo, Wyo. Step-sons Kit Moore of Thermopolis, Wyo. and Irvin Moore of Rock Springs, Wyo. Linda's children Robert (Amy) Dunn of Torrington, Wyo., and Linda Lee (Joe) Pokorski of Hot Springs, So. Dak. 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by too many close friends to name them all.
Services will be held March 1, 2014, 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Fort Laramie, Wyo.
