Final Rites Held for Mrs. Everette Brooks Monday

Mrs. F. Everette Brooks, age 47, died at the Presbyterian Hospital in Denver June 8 at 4:00 p.m. following a prolonged illness of 20 years.

Funeral services were held at the Peet Chapel Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Frank Schweissing, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. A quartet composed of Hazel Jean Kuns, Geraldine Klemke, Juanita Cork and Justine Watson, sang, "In The Garden" and "This World Is Not My Home." Organ accompaniment was provided by Mrs. J. P. Watson. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery with the following pallbearers: Bill Hebbert, Clarence Mangus, Dick Lee, Ben Brown, D. A. Shoopman and Ross Roll.

Hazel Edith Poff was born July 9, 1904, at Goodland, Kans., the daughter of Sam and Sarah Poff. At Goodland, she received her early schooling and continued her education in the Manville schools, when her parents homesteaded near Manville in 1913.

On Jan. 13, 1924 she was married to Francis Everette Brooks of Keeline. They were the parents of two sons, Dean Brooks and Warren Brooks. The latter son preceded Mrs. Brooks in death Jan. 4, 1943.

She was a member of the Keeline Christian Church and later a member of the Congregational-Christian Church of Lusk.

After a prolonged illness of 20 years, she became an invalid the past 11 months.

She leaves her parents, Sam and Sarah Poff, of Manville and Brighton, Colo.; her husband; one son, Dean Brooks, and family; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Baker and Mrs. Ruth Luft, Brighton, Colo., and Mrs. Florence Walden, Lamona, Ia.; two brothers, Floyd Poff, Pittsburg, Pa., and William Poff, Sheridan.
