Kenneth Johns Killed In Auto Accident
Kenneth Eugene Johns, 27, of Lander, grandson of Mrs. Della Carley of Lusk, was fatally injured when his pickup swung wide on a curve and piled into an irrigation ditch on the Lander-Hudson highway Saturday evening, July 16.
Highway Patrolman Minshall, who arrived within a few minutes, established the time of the accident at 7:00 p.m. He stated that persons who came on the scene shortly after the accident said Johns was still breathing. He was dead when the patrolman reached him.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, July 20, in the First Methodist Church in Lander with Rev. Ralph Snyder, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Besides his grandmother, he is survived by his wife, Florence; two daughters, Margery, 5, and Frances, 4; a son, Richard, one year; three sisters, Mrs. William Jordan of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Leonard Jeppeson of Hermeston, Ore., and Mrs. Clifford Holms of Rock Springs; two brothers, Leroy of Vista, Cal., and Edgar of Edgemont, S.D. One brother, Richard, died previously.
