Susan "Susie" Bohn
SERVICES FOR SUSAN BOAN HELD MONDAY
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Susan Boan from the Peet chapel on Monday afternoon, May 1st. Mrs. Boan was Lusk's only Negro citizen and has resided here about twenty-five years.
She passed away at her home in the northwest part of town, on Friday, April 28th. Although her exact age is not known, she was well advanced in years, being somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 years.
Mrs. Boan served many families in Lusk as laundress while her health permitted.
She is survived by a brother in Robbins, Ill., and a sister at Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Rev. Lawrence Juell read the burial service and she was laid to rest in the Lusk cemetery.
Note: The 1920 Census has Susie Bohn as the wife of Ernest Bohn. She was 48 years old in 1920, with an estimated birth date of 1872, born in Tennessee, living in Lusk in 1920. Her gravestone has Susie Bohn, 1864-1944, and cemetery records have April 29 as her death date.
