Bertrum Lee Moore

Longtime Niobrara County resident Bertrum Lee Moore, 72, died last Thursday at Niobrara Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

The son of John A. and Sarah V. Moore, he was born at Omaha.

Lee, as he was called, came to Wyoming from Iowa in 1919 with his parents and his sister, Annabelle, and the family homesteaded seven miles south of Lance Creek.

On Jan. 7, 1933, Lee married Edna L. Burke in Lusk.

Lee lived and worked in the Lance Creek area for 31 years. He was employed by a.O. Bullock Drilling Co., Marathon Oil and lightning Creek Oil.

Upon his retirement, Lee and his wife moved to Manville and later to Lusk, where he was living at the time of his death.

In addition to his wife, Lee is survived by a daughter, Helen Fulk of Lusk, a son, Homer of Midwest, a sister, Anna Wilkison of Lusk; a brother, Raymond of Lance Creek; six grandchildren, Cindy of Casper and Shawn, Shelley, Crystal, Carmen and Jimmie of Midwest; one great grandchild of Casper; and several nieces and nephews in this area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a son.

The Rev. Frank Bozart officiated at a Tuesday afternoon service at Peet Mortuary.

Mark Lohr sang "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "Till We Meet Again," with Minerva Watson as organist.

Burial followed at Lusk Cemetery.

Pallbearers wee Hugh McLean, Elmer Nelson, Harvey Overman, Clem Mosier, Lynard Gladson and Clarence Mason.
