Adele S. Britton
Word has been received that Adele S. Britton, 67, passed away at a Clackamas, Ore., hospital on Nov. 18, 1991, of pneumonia.
A memorial service was held Friday, Nov. 22 in the chapel of Portland Memorial Funeral Home. Interment was in Portland Memorial Mausoleum.
Britton was born June 26, 1924, in Stanton, Neb., and attended Wayne State University in Nebraska. She had worked as a food broker in San Francisco for three years before moving to the Portland area in 1967.
On Sept. 3, 1967, she married Lester A. Britton at Hillsboro, Ore. A legal secretary, Mrs. Britton had worked for the firm of Keith Skelton and Betty Roberts until the 1980's.
Survivors include her husband, her son William W. and her daughters, Caro Mathews and Janet Britton of Portland; her brother, Paul R. Sweet of Stanton, Neb.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Britton was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Frank Podolak who lives south of Lusk.
