Daniel W. Lantis was born in Mackinaw, Ill., on May 22, 1833. He united with the Christian church when 18 years of age. In 1859 he was united in marriage to Miss Asuba Stevens, of Mackinaw, Ill. To their union were born nine children, four of whom died in infancy. Those who survive are Mrs. Ida Brininstool, of Mackinaw, Ill., Chas. D., of Salt Creek, Wyo., Mrs. Lizzie Grice, of Manville, Cash B., of Garland, Mont., and Robert R., of Manville. There are also seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In 1888 Mr. Lantis came with his family to Manville, and after two years residence removed to Montana. His beloved wife passed beyond four years ago, and a year later he returned to Wyoming, making his home first with his son Chas. and then with his daughter Mrs. Grice, at whose home he passed peacefully away through the infirmities of old age, on Aug. 24, 1913.
Funeral services were held at M.E. church, Manville, Tuesday, conducted by Rev. D. B. Atkinson. Interment was in Manville cemetery.
