Rev. Harold R. Brink, 77, of Sturgis, S. D. died March 26, 2005, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.
Pastor Dan Kent officiated at a memorial service at 10 a.m. March 29, at the Calvary Temple Church in Spearfish, S.D. there will be a private family inurnment service.
Harold was born March 22, 1928, at Stickney, to John Herman and Nancy (Westerhaus) Brink. He grew up in the Stickney and Platte area. He served in the U. S. Army from 1948 until 1951.
Harold married Darlene Sponheim on Feb. 8, 1952. They moved to Rapid City, S. D. where Harold worked at Buckingham Wood Products until he went to college in Des Moines, Iowa. He was ordained in 1961.
Harold pastured in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Lusk, Wapato, Elk, and Spokane, Wash., and for 10 years at the Presbyterian Church in Whitewood. The past two years he has been a visitation pastor at Calvary Temple Church in Spearfish.
Survivors include in wife, Darlene Brink of Sturgis; one son and his wife, Wade and Diane Brink of Elk, Wash.; two daughters and their husbands, Kim and Tom Wallace of Moss Lake, Wash., and Carmen and David Schatz of Milton, Wash.; seven brothers, Gerrit, Marvin, Donald, Darold, Lawrence, Bobby and Marion; one sister, Evelyn Hoefert; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
His parents, four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established.
