Danny Lee "Shorty" Brownrigg
Cowboy funeral services for Danny Lee "Shorty" Brownrigg Jr. 24, of Morrill, Neb., formerly of the Fort Laramie area. Began with a procession leaving the parking lot of the Fort Laramie Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 12, 1991, and headed 22 miles north to the Lone Tree Cemetery.
The casket was transferred to the horse-drawn wagon and escorted by pall bearers mounted on horseback. Graveside services were conducted by Pastor Richard Young.
Memorials to the family in care of the First National Bank either in Morrill or Torrington would be appreciated. Brownrigg died at his ranch home on Tuesday Feb. 6, 1991.
He was born Oct. 24, 1966, at Torrington, Wyo., the son of Danny Lee and Elizabeth (Runyan) Brownrigg. He received his education in the Lingle-Fort Laramie schools. He worked for and with many ranchers in Goshen and Platte Counties.
He started working for Norfolk-Franklin Land and Cattle Company in December of 1987 until December 1990. He began working for Torrington Feeders in October 1990 along with assisting many other ranchers in the area until his death.
He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, The American Paint Horse Association and Region 8 Feedlot Cowboy Association.
He is survived by his wife Becky, and sons Clay and Zane of Morrill, father Danny Brownrigg Sr., Loveland, Colo.; mother and step-father, Elizabeth and Robert Wise of Wheatland; three sisters, Penny Elwood, and Dona Rae Brownrigg, both of Torrington; and Tandi Wise of Wheatland.; paternal grandparents, Bill and Zola Brownrigg of Torrington; and maternal great-grandmother Elsie M. King of Guernsey.
The casket remained closed. Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington was in charge of arrangements.
