Samuel "Sam" Knori
Last Rites Held For Harrison Pioneer
Sam Knori, 72, long-time resident of Harrison, Nebr., died at his home last Thursday morning from complications following influenza, which caused Bright's Disease.
Mr. Knori had been a resident of Sioux County, Nebraska, for about 47 years, and was known well by many Lusk and Niobrara County residents. He was born in Switzerland, and when a young man came to America, where he settled in Wisconsin. He lived in that state for several years, and then moved and homesteeaded in Sioux County, Nebraska, a few miles north of Harrison, and operated a large cattle ranch. Here he met and married mary Elizabeth Norish, and to this union were born four sons: Emanual, Samuel, Gus, and one son who died a few years ago.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the Harrison Methodist church, with Rev. A. G. Johnson, pastor of the Lutheran church, officiating. The congregation sang "Asleep in Jesus," "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" and "Rock of Ages." burial was made in the Harrison Cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Knori are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Knori, three sons, many relatives, and a host of friends who knew and loved him.
