AGED MOTHER IS CALLED TO FINAL REST TUESDAY

Mrs. Ella Harris, long-time resident of Niobrara county, died Tuesday March 28th at 11:25 p.m. Mrs. Harris was 80 years old and was taken to the Manring Home on Tuesday morning for treatment and died that night of complications due to infirmities of old age.

Mrs. Harris came to Lusk in 1920 and located in the vicinity of Bright, Wyo., where she remained for many years, until she moved into town some time ago and made her home in Lusk with her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Walker, who teaches school in Node. She is survived by her daughter and a grandson, Loren Walker, and a son, Ray Harris, who is a resident of Bright, Wyo.

Funeral services will be held from the Peet Mortuary this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and burial will be made in the Lusk cemetery. An obituary will appear in The Herald next week.

OBITUARY
The funeral services for Mrs. Ella Harris took place on Saturday afternoon, April 1st at 2:00 in the Peet Mortuary, with Rev. P. H. Evans officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery.

Ella Rhay Harris was born in Harrison County, Missouri, near Bethany, on February 19, 1859. She lived in the same county where she was born until after her marriage.

She was united in marriage to Dave G. Harris at an early age, and to this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter; Galen, who died in infancy, Ray, now living at Bright, Wyo.; George, who died in 1924, and Ruth Walker, now residing in Lusk.

After her marriage, she lived with her husband in Evona, Missouri; and later moved to McFall, Mo., where they owned and operated a drug store. While in McFall, Mr. Harris' eyesight failed and Mrs. Harris had the heavier burden of managing the business and caring for the family. Another misfortune in her life was the burning of their drug store which caught fire, and upon which there was no insurance. The family then moved to a small farm, and later, when the boys were large enough to do farm work, they moved back into Harrison county, Mo., where in 1908, her husband died.

In 1913, she homesteaded in Colorado; and in 1920, she came to Wyoming, and located on Lance Creek, near Bright, where she resided until just recently.

Mrs. Harris died March 28th, 1939, at the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 9 days. She leaves to mourn her loss, her son, Ray, of Bright, a daughter, Ruth Walker, of Lusk; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lena Ferguson of Stillwater, Okla., and Mrs. V. R. Neff, of Cameron, Mo., and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a faithful friend. Her entire life was given to hospitality. Her memory will live for many years in the hearts of many people.
