Funeral services for Gerald Allen (Jerry) Beman of rural Sioux County will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Crawford with Reverend Norman Hansen officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Cemetery. Beman died Nov. 29, 1992 at Regional West Medical Center at the age of 55.
Jerry, son of John and Ruby (Kohlhof) Beman was born June 13, 1937 in Omaha, Neb. He grew up in Crawford, Neb. attending Crawford schools through high school graduation.
Beman entered the U.S. Air Force in June 1955. He served for 20 years retiring in 1975, when he returned to Crawford with his family. He was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion.
He married Dorothy (McCoy) Beman Dec. 31, 1955. To this union were born three daughters, Vicky, Cheryl, Jerri Sue. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of rural Sioux County, daughter, Vicky Woods of Harrison, Cheryl Wright and husband Ray of Hemingford, Jerri Sue Motz and husband Rodney of Whitney; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, John and wife Jacquelyn of Evansville, Ind., brother, Ralph and wife, Anne, of Bilouxi, Miss.; and numerous extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being made by Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford. Donations may be made to Crawford State Bank as a memorial.
